ALRA Board Update:

Your ARBOUR LAKE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION BOARD had its 2nd annual strategic planning session toward the end of January.

Last year you saw some of the results from our first offsite when you witnessed some of the changes including clean white sand, sun loungers, summer concession stand, expanded festive lighting, heated outdoor shower, expanded landscaping, paddle-boards, kayaks, canoes and many new activities and programs at Arbour Lake.

Attendance at the session was close to 100% as your ALRA Board volunteers worked hard on issues including board governance, risk and finance. We also had the opportunity to “dream” about what our lake community would look like in a brainstorming exercise. There was no shortage of ideas as the group came up with over 100. From there we narrowed down the top ones in a prioritization exercise. The next step will be to put cost numbers against top priorities and see which ones can fit into our 2012 budget.

Overall, it was a great day, albeit at times mentally exhausting. A copy of the material that was covered is now posted on our web-site under Strategic Plan. I would like to thank every board member volunteered their personal time and energy to make this event an overwhelming success!
