About the Project
HOW IT STARTED
From a closed playground to something better
When the City of Calgary closed our local playground in 2025, the Arbour Lake Residents Association saw an opportunity to design and build something even better. In September 2025, a committee was formed to lead the project. The vision was to offer much more than just the playground we had lost.
BUILT FOR EVERYONE
Play, fitness, and a place to gather
The new facility is designed for our young, our teens, our adults, and the young-at-heart. It will be a place to gather, play, exercise, and enjoy bandstand performances, with colourful, lake-inspired design and accessibility built in from the start.
SAFETY FROM THE GROUND UP
A softer landing for every tumble
The final phase is the installation of a pour-in-place rubber surface, which cushions stumbles and falls. The whole design reflects both safety and a high focus on accessibility for all of our residents and their guests.
